By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing work to begin, the customer agrees to these terms. They are designed to ensure that the service is carried out fairly, safely, and with clear expectations on both sides. In these Terms, references to we, us, and our mean Waddon Carpet Cleaners, and references to you and your mean the customer or the person authorised to arrange the service.

Scope of service covers carpet cleaning, stain treatment, upholstery cleaning, and similar floor-care or fabric-care services agreed at the time of booking. Any additional work requested on the day is subject to availability and may be charged separately. The exact service specification should be confirmed before attendance so that the carpet cleaning service can be delivered as efficiently as possible. We reserve the right to refuse any request that is unsafe, unlawful, or beyond the agreed scope.

Booking process begins when you request a quote or ask for an appointment. A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted it, usually by email, message, or other written confirmation. When you make a booking, you must provide accurate information about the property, the rooms or items to be cleaned, access conditions, parking limitations, known stains, existing damage, and any health or safety concerns. This information allows us to assign the correct team, equipment, and cleaning materials.

We may provide an estimated arrival window rather than an exact time. While we make every effort to arrive on time, appointments can occasionally be affected by traffic, weather, equipment failure, or delays on previous jobs. In such cases, we will act reasonably and keep you informed where possible. A delayed arrival will not automatically entitle you to compensation, unless required by law or unless the delay is caused by our proven negligence.

In that event, a cancellation or wasted-journey fee may apply. You must ensure that the area to be cleaned is reasonably clear of furniture, fragile objects, and personal belongings, unless prior arrangements have been made for us to move items as part of the carpet and upholstery cleaning service.

Payments and pricing will be set out in the quote, booking confirmation, or invoice. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, prices are stated in pounds sterling and may include VAT where applicable. Any estimate is based on the information you provide and may change if the actual work differs from the original description, if there is additional soiling, unusually heavy staining, special treatment requirements, or if the size of the area is greater than expected.

Payment is due in full at the time specified on the invoice or immediately upon completion if no other arrangement has been agreed. We may accept bank transfer, card payment, or other methods notified at the time of booking. We are under no obligation to commence or continue work if there is an outstanding balance from a previous appointment or if a payment method fails. Late payment may result in additional recovery costs where permitted by law.

Discounts, promotional rates, and special offers are valid only for the period stated and may be withdrawn at any time before acceptance. They are non-transferable unless expressly stated. Any price shown for carpet cleaning is based on normal conditions and does not include unforeseen remedial work, removal of heavy furniture, or specialist stain restoration unless these are expressly included.

Cancellations and rescheduling should be made as early as possible. If you cancel more than 24 hours before the appointment, no cancellation fee will usually be charged unless a special order, reserved equipment, or non-refundable material has already been arranged specifically for your booking. If you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, or if we are unable to complete the service because you are not present and no alternative access has been agreed, we may charge a reasonable cancellation fee to cover lost time and administration.

If you wish to reschedule, we will try to offer an alternative time, subject to availability. Repeated postponements may be treated as cancellations. We also reserve the right to cancel or postpone a booking where there are unsafe working conditions, unsuitable access, infestation, serious contamination, a risk to our staff, or any situation that makes the carpet cleaning work unreasonable to complete.

Where we must cancel due to circumstances outside our control, including severe weather, transport disruption, illness, or equipment breakdown, we will make reasonable efforts to rearrange the booking. We will not be responsible for indirect losses caused by such cancellation, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Customer responsibilities are important to the safe and effective completion of the service. You must provide access to water, electricity, and the areas to be cleaned, and ensure that a responsible adult is present or available unless alternative arrangements have been approved. You should advise us in advance of any special risks, including fragile floor coverings, loose seams, hidden wiring, or areas that have previously been treated with chemicals.

You are responsible for removing valuables, delicate items, and anything you do not want handled during the job. We may move lightweight items where reasonably necessary to complete the cleaning, but we do not accept responsibility for items left in the work area unless we have expressly agreed to handle them. We recommend that pets are secured and that children are kept away from the work area for safety.

If you instruct us to continue work despite an obvious concern, you do so at your own risk to the extent permitted by law. In particular, some stains, odours, wear, fading, or dye transfer may be permanent or may not respond fully to professional carpet cleaners. We cannot guarantee complete removal of every stain, mark, or allergen.

We will take reasonable care and skill in delivering the service, but our liability is limited to losses caused by our negligence, breach of contract, or breach of statutory duty. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, manufacturing defects, wear and tear, hidden faults, or deterioration caused by the condition of the item or surface being cleaned.

Where we move furniture, equipment, or household items as part of the carpet and rug cleaning process, we do so with reasonable care, but we are not responsible for incidental marks, scuffs, or damage arising from the age, fragility, or instability of the item, unless caused by our negligence. It is your responsibility to advise us about any particularly delicate or valuable belongings.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for indirect, special, or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded under English law.

Complaints and re-cleaning requests should be raised promptly after the service is completed. If you believe an area has not been cleaned in line with the agreed scope, you must notify us within a reasonable time and before arranging any third-party remedial work. Where appropriate, we may offer a re-clean or inspection, provided that the issue is one that could reasonably be addressed by further cleaning and was not caused by the nature or age of the material.

A request for a re-clean does not guarantee a refund. If the original service was carried out with reasonable care and skill, and the outcome is limited by pre-existing wear, permanent staining, or the fibre condition, no further action may be required. Any remedy offered is at our discretion, subject always to your statutory rights.

We may decline a complaint where the area was not available for inspection, where cleaning products or third parties have been used after our visit, or where the relevant condition was disclosed before the work began. This position applies to carpet cleaning UK services generally and is intended to avoid disputes about conditions beyond our control.

Waste regulations and environmental responsibilities are followed in line with applicable UK legislation, including requirements relating to disposal of wastewater, cleaning residues, packaging, and any contaminated materials arising from the service. We will use reasonable methods to collect and handle waste generated during the work, and we will not knowingly dispose of substances in a way that breaches environmental or waste management rules.

You must not ask us to remove or dispose of hazardous materials unless we have expressly agreed and are legally able to do so. Hazardous waste may include chemicals, bodily fluids, asbestos-related material, sharps, rodent contamination, or any substance requiring specialist disposal. If such material is discovered during the appointment, we may stop work and charge for time spent on site if the issue was not disclosed in advance.

Where wastewater or residues cannot safely be discharged on site, we may retain and remove them in accordance with waste regulations. You agree to cooperate with any reasonable instruction intended to protect drains, surfaces, and the environment. We may use biodegradable or low-residue products where suitable, but no product is guaranteed to be allergen-free or suitable for every household.

Insurance and loss prevention are important parts of our service standard. We maintain insurance cover that is consistent with the nature of the services we provide, but insurance does not create unlimited liability. You remain responsible for maintaining your own property insurance for items of particular value or sentimental importance. Any claim against us should be supported by evidence and reported without unreasonable delay.

If damage is alleged, you must allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the item or area before any repair, replacement, or disposal takes place. Where liability is accepted, our responsibility will normally be limited to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement of the affected item, taking account of its age, condition, and depreciation, unless a different remedy is required by law.

Nothing in these carpet cleaning terms affects your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable legislation. We aim to provide services with reasonable care and skill, and any statutory rights you have remain fully in force.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts where applicable law allows. If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that part will be treated as removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder will continue in full force. No failure or delay by us in exercising a right under these Terms shall operate as a waiver of that right.

These Terms and Conditions form the entire agreement between you and Waddon Carpet Cleaners in relation to the booking, payment, cancellation, liability, waste handling, and legal framework for the service, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
